Some Excellent Addons of Firefox

Firefox is now one of the top class browsers of the world. I tell it the best. Not only me I think that most of the people will agree with me. Why firefox is the best to me? Very simple. Firefox has some excellent add ons. But other browsers have not so many addons. Today I will share you some unbelievable addons.

Before starting with addons lets go and install the latest version of firefox. The latest version is faster than the previous. Just search google for the firefox latest version. You will easily get that. Now lets go to install addons.


At first install FEBE. It is profile and extension backup of mozilla and backup restore addon. This addon will be required to install the rests.

Download link of FEBE.

After installing FEBE download this folder. The size of this folder is 19MB. This folder is in zip format. After download, unzip it and you will get some small files of .xpi format. There is another folder named Home page of the Extensions. Now open firefox and follow these steps:

Go to Tools > FEBE > Restore > Restore Extensions

Now select all the files of .xpi format from the unzipped folder and open. A pop up menu will come. Click on Install button there. After install restart the firefox.

You will see that all the addons are installed. Now open the webpage from the Home page of the Extensions folder. Now match your lists.

[NB: If you think that to install all the addons together will slow your system, you can select .xpi files one by one according to your choice. In this case you need not install FEBE.]

Now look that besides some addons there are cross mark. It means that these addons are installed, but are desabled now. The reason for disable is that we use these addons ver few. You can enable or disable any addons in any time from Tools > Addons option.


Now lets go a short review of these addons:

1. AdblockPlus: The main function of this addon is to keep you free from the unnecessary advertisements of any site.

2. AdblockPlusElementHidingHelper: Using this addon you can block such unblockable contents made by flash.

3. Adobe DLM: It is the download manager of adobe. You will have to download this before downloading the adobe flash player.

4. AutoPager: When you need to download some pages one by one from any site then you can use it. Through this addon you can load such pages into one page one after another in lieu of loading in different pages. If you are fan of comics then you will get advantage using it.

5. BitDefenderQuickScan: Sometimes you can get into doubt that whether your computer is virus attacked or not. Again you do not want to install antivirus only for checking it. In this situation you can use it. Through this addon you can check within 3 minutes whether your computer is virus attacked or not. Remember, you can only check virus but can not clean.

6. BlockSite: You can block any site through this addon. It will not only block the particular site but also will not show its link to other sites.

7. BugMeNot: It is very useful to login in such websites where money is needed to registration. It worked very well in previous days. But in present its success rate is very low.

8. CoolPreview: Through this addon you can see a preview before entering into any site.

9. Cooliris: You can search any image through 3D simulation. You can also view the images of facebook or google like 3D.

10. DownloadStatusbar: If you start any download using firefox browser then no popup problem will be shown to you.

11. ExtendedStatusbar: An advantage of opera browser is that it shows the loading status while loading a page. You can get the same advantage into firefox using this addon.

12. FlashGot: Control the external download managers from mozilla. One of its main use is in rapid8.com.

13. FoxyProxyStandard: It is an excellent addon to control proxy manually.

14. Ghostery: Stop all the problem makers starting from google who tries to steal information through this addon.

15. Glue: This addon wil recommend you various kinds of books, songs or movies.

16. GmailNotifier: It is gmail accounts manager.

17. Greasemonkey: It is an excellent addon to download facebook videos. In facebook there are some videos which is not permitted to download directly from facebook. But using this addon you can easily download such videos. If you install this addon you will see an icon in the right bottom corner of the page like the head of monkey. Then click this link. In this link you will get the video script of facebook which will add the download link with any video of facebook. Then click on Install button from this page. Login to facebook. You will see a download link with all the videos of facebook. You can only download video in .flv format. If needed you can convert the video into any other format from this link.

18. PDFDownload: It is a shortcut addon to convert the html file into pdf file.

19. ReadItLater & Taboo: These two are two different addons for the same task. You can get rid of bookmarking problems using this addon with one click.  

20. RemainderFox: It will reminder you about any important meeting or anyone's birthday or any important news.

21. Screengrab: Keep screenshot of any webpage framing it according to your like.

22. Shareaholic: You can share various links through this addon.

23. ShowIP: Do you want to find out the owner of any website? Then this addon will help you. You will get the IP address of the website owner through it. Then just use whois.com or google earth.

24. SimilarWeb and WOT(Web of trust): These two are for different tasks. But their combination is excellent for a reason. The first one is to find out same type of websites. Suppose you have a favourite website to download movies. But for any reason one of your favourite movie is not there. Then this addon will be helpful to you. And the second one will show you the reliability of your browsed sites.

25. SkipScreen: When you use rapidshare or any other file sharing sites, then you have to wait for a certain time before starting download. But you do not need to wait if you use this addon.

26. TinEyeReverseImageSearch: You can search by image to the web through this addon. Suppose you have a profile picture to facebook. Now you want to find out whether anyone is using your picture or not. For this issue this addon will help you to search by that image.

27. YouTubemp3: Sometimes you may need an audio. But you are failed to find out that from web. But that audio is saved to facebook in video format. Now what to do. You can download the video and then convert it to audio. But you can easily solve it. If you use this YouTubemp3 addon you will find a downloadmp3 icon above the youtube video. Just download the audio.

28. FoxyTunes: Control your external music player using firefox. Hear song from firefox. Besides, you can hear song online using it.

29. Selectivecookiedelete: Manually delete all the cookies. If you select option cookies will be deleted automatically when exit from firefox.
