How to Disable the Control Panel Access Permanently in Windows XP

In Windows XP, you can change few system settings for the limited user accounts. But you can not stop your users from accessing all the system settings task. Not all actions can be prohibited. But the easiest process is to disable "control panel" access permanently. For this you have to create an entry in your system's registry editor by the following way.

1. Log on to windows using the limited user account.
2. Go to the "start menu > Run", type "regedit" and hit "Enter".
3. Now navigate to "HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows\Current Version\Policies\Explorer"
4. If the sub key Explorer is unavailable, just create it following "Edit > New > Key".
5. For the right side window open "Edit > New > DWORD value". As a description type "NoControlPanel" and hit "Enter".
6. Now double click in this new entry, change value to 1 and press "OK".
7. Close the registry window.

From now the existing users will not be allowed to open Control Panel. Enjoy.
